Thriving at School (second edition)

A practical guide to help your child enjoy the crucial school years

Dr John Irvine, John Stewart

The authors write: 'Current research shows that our children's success in life will depend less on their 'traditional' IQ and more on their emotional intelligence - their ability to form successful relationships, be more understanding of others and form a positive outlook on life. They will need the new Three Rs: the values of respect, responsibility and relationships. These values underpin every student's capacity to thrive at school.'

'Practical, detailed and wide ranging, the authors' experience with kids and schools shines through.' Steve Biddulph, author of Raising Boys and Manhood

'This book provides a great overview for parents on how to help kids thrive. A must read.' Andrew Fuller, clinical psychologist, family therapist and author of Tricky Kids and Tricky People.

'Highly recommended.' John Cooper, senior clinical psychologist and author of Getting on With Others.

'Parents of infants and primary students will draw great benefit from this well structured and accessible manual, rich in experience, reassurance and common sense.' Andrew Mullins, Headmaster of Redfield College, author of Parenting For Character.

'Thriving at School is an invaluable resource for parents who want to maximise their child's chance of learning to their best potential whilst building a strong sense of positive self-esteem.' Dr Janet Hall, clinical psychologist author of Fight-free Families and Fear-free Children.
